Most people think about the pool. Not many think about what goes under it. But here's the thing - skipping proper base prep is one of the fastest ways to end up with a pool that shifts, sags, or causes liner problems down the line. That's exactly why we took the time to do this one right.
We were brought in to extend an existing pool pad for this Greenfield Center property. The existing pad needed more surface area to support a larger, more stable install. So we got to work - bringing in 6 tons of stone to build out the base and then topping it with a fresh layer of sand to create a smooth, level surface ready for the pool to sit on.
You can see the layering process as it came together. Stone goes down first. It packs tight, handles drainage, and gives you a firm foundation that isn't going anywhere. The sand layer on top evens everything out and protects the liner from any sharp edges or pressure points below. Both steps matter. Neither one is optional if you want the install to hold up.
This kind of groundwork is something we take seriously on every job - whether it's a pool pad, a paver patio base, or any other outdoor project that needs a solid footing. Getting the prep right up front saves a lot of headaches later. It's not the most glamorous part of the work, but it's the part that makes everything else perform the way it should.
A well-built base is what separates a yard project that lasts from one that fails prematurely. If you've got something in the works and want it done the right way from the ground up, we're the crew for it.
